Darussalam - Pemilihan Ketua Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa (BEM) Fakultas Teknik (FT) Unsyiah, periode 2014-2015 berlangsung pukul 08.00–17.30 WIB, di lapangan bola basket kampus tersebut, Selasa, 1 April 2014.

Pemilihan BEM kali ini, dua kandidat maju memperebutkan posisi tersebut. Yaitu, Rengga Prima (nomor urut 1) dan Hashfi Hamdani (nomoro urut 2). Komisi Pemilihan Raya Mahasiswa (KOPRAM), telah menyiapkan 3.287 surat suara sesuai dengan jumlah mahasiswa FT.

Yudi, Ketua Panitia KOPRAM, mengatakan kedua calon harus melalui proses verifikasi data. Diantaranya membaca Al-Qur’an, mahasiswa aktif FT, IPK minimal 2,75, tidak sedang dicabut hak pilihnya, membuat makalah tentang fungsi dan kedudukan BEM sesuai dengan AD/ART dan Garis-Garis Besar Haluan Organisasi (GBHO), Keluarga Besar Mahasiswa (KBM) FT.

Yudi menambahkan, kedua kandidat ketua BEM juga harus menyatakan kesediaannya secara tertulis. Berupa sehat jasmani dan rohani, memiliki surat rekomendasi dari Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan (HMJ) atau Himpunan Mahasiswa Prodi (HMP) secara tertulis dan bakal calon minimal telah menyelesaikan 4 semester akademik.

“Kedua kandidat harus tetap sportif yang akan terjadi nantinya, yang menang tetap merangkul yang kalah, dan yang kalah harus menerima dengan lapang dada,” harapnya.[]
